Knocked down.
Back up.
How a #1 Amazon seller lost everything in the pandemic — and started over.
I used to own the camping chair game. Thousands of bungee chairs. Number one on Amazon. Then the world stopped, and so did I.
The top of the mountain
Before Campzio, there was the bungee chair. Not just any chair — a steel-framed, bungee-suspended lounge chair that cradled you like a hammock. I sold thousands of them. At its peak, it was the #1 camping chair on Amazon.
I knew every supplier, every stitch, every weak point in the frame. I lived and breathed that chair. It wasn’t a product — it was the whole business, and the business was winning.
The fall
Then the pandemic hit. Supply chains froze. Warehouses locked down. Shipping costs went vertical. The machine I’d built ground to a halt, and there was nothing I could do but watch.
So I stopped. Not because I wanted to — because the world gave me no choice.
The rebuild
Years later, the itch never left. I kept thinking about that chair — and about everything around it. The tents. The sleep systems. The lighting that turns a campsite into a memory.
Campzio is the comeback. It starts with the bungee chair — the Summit Bungee Lounge Chair, rebuilt better than the original — and grows into the full outdoor kit: gear first, furniture when it counts. Fifteen pieces to start. Every one earned its place.
I’m not here to be the biggest outdoor store. I’m here to sell gear I’d stake my name on — because once, I already did.
The rules we run on
- Gear first. The essentials decide the trip. We lead with them.
- Built to last. Fireside-tested furniture, not one-season disposables.
- Priced straight. No fake discounts, no inflated MSRPs.
- No quitting. Got knocked down once. Not happening again.
